Representative Matters:

  • Drafting comments and presenting testimony in response to proposed Maryland Department of the Environment Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation Permits on behalf of Waterkeeper Alliance and other concerned Chesapeake Bay stakeholders. 
  • Successfully represented mahogany importer in Federal court in a seizure case under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) involving millions of dollars worth of imported mahogany.
  • Provided guidance and executive summaries to a litigation joint defense group executive committee on water pollution issues in Florida in an action filed by Miami-Dade County against a number of past and present tenants at Miami International Airport seeking $450 million in past and future costs associated with the investigation and remediation of contaminants alleged to have been discharged.
  • Prepared waste-out reports used to allocate response costs at major Superfund sites among Potentially Responsible Parties in the settlement of large multi party case.
  • Involved in issues involving developmental pressures on the Florida Everglades and water allocation issues.
  • Representing commercial and residential developer in federal Clean Water Act litigation.
  • Challenging validity of state-issued deep well permits to home builder that would result in loss of ground water to town residents
  • Enforcement of Endangered Species legislation in cases of illegal trade.
  • Provided comments on the effects of offshore mining, drilling and exploration of oil and gas on endangered species in the Outer Continental Shelf for Congress.
  • Advised large construction client on State regulations concerning Hot Mix Asphalt in road construction, the use and testing of polymer binders, the link between Hot Mix Asphalt and emissions and on asphalt binder specifications for greener road construction.
