There are stringent income- and asset-level requirements established for the Medicaid program. More people want to stay in their homes but are not sure if they could afford long-term care if it became necessary. Others want to be able to leave homes and assets to their loved ones but wonder if they will meet the low asset requirements.

MassHealth
